What I did in the games: Game beaten.
The One Picture I have taken: Screenshot just when the Final Boss are beaten, because the endings where underwhelming.
Both games were playable on the Irem Collection Volume 2, and were the only reason why I bought it. There was a third game, which was some kind of plane shmup, but I was not interrested in it. I wanted to try GunForce because the team that made them at Irem will eventually split up to form Nazca and create Metal Slug. So you can see the ADN from Metal Slug in these games. While the first game feels more "slugish", it does have A LOT of vehicles you can ride on, and is really a satisfying experience. But the main event here is really the second game. It still features tons of vehicles to use, but now the game is hyper-animated, not to the level of Metal Slug, but you can almost see it at this point. You even have to rescue red-dressed girl in the same way you were rescuing those POW in Metal Slug, while getting medals to rank up and get more points. The whole game is just one set-piece after another with the only drawback is that it ends too quick after only 5 stages. There's not even an ending unlike the first one. Once you beat the Final Boss, you just restart at Mission 1. It truly feels like the game was maybe rushed at the end. Oh well. It was still really fun, and make this whole collection worth it for me. There's also a SNES port of the first GunForce included in this package. But I've played 5 minute of it before just quitting. It was really bad, Contra III this is not. It's best to stick with the Arcade version. In any case, for my completion pictures, the one at the top is for the first game, and the one below is for the second.
