Legacy of the Wizard - Game beaten

What I did in the game: Game beaten.

The One Picture I have taken: Ending screen.

After finally beating Xanadu (which was Dragon Slayer II), I had to continue with another old Falcom game that I wanted to try since a long while now: Legacy of the Wizard on NES, a port of Dragon Slayer IV: Drasle Family on MSX2. For many this is a NES hidden gem, but I didnt had the chance to play it as a kid. And since then, the story about how hard and obtuse it was made me stay far away from it. But after Xanadu, I thought it couldnt be AS HARD as this one. Still, I went and read a guide on Gamefaqs again, just to prepare myself, but this time, it was almost not necessary. Once I knew what all the items were doing, and that you needed to tackle each of the 4 main sections with a specific character, well I just did most of it without any guide.

The thing is, this time, there's no cruel penalty, you can't get stuck because you didnt planned enough. This is not even a RPG, so you don't need to grind much except some items like Keys and Gold. It's truly a side-scrolling adventure game, like Metroid and such. You have 5 characters you can play as, each one with their specific skills and items they can use to help you progress. You need to find 4 Crowns, then the Dragon Slayer, and then kill the Dragon. That's it. The challenge truly came from the fact that there's hidden walls everywhere and precise jumps you need to make else you fall to your doom. But since I was playing on the Namco Museum Archives Vol. 2, I admit I was abusing the rewind feature to avoid raging too much because I missed a pixel perfect jump. So the game was pretty chill actually. Still glad I could see the end of it and check another game from my Falcom list.

Before I finish this post, I just realized we now have 5 out of the 7 Dragon Slayer games available in some form on Switch. What we have now:

-Dragon Slayer II: Xanadu (the PC-88 and PC-98 version through Revival Xanadu, both with EGGCONSOLE)
-Dragon Slayer IV: Drasle Family (the MSX2 version through EGGCONSOLE and NES version with Namco Museum Archives Vol. 2)
-Dragon Slayer V: Sorcerian (the original PC-88 through EGGCONSOLE, and the mobile phone version in Japan only through G-MODE Archives)
-Dragon Slayer VI: The Legend of Heroes I & II (the original PC-88 through EGGCONSOLE, but it seems that port of the Turbo Grafx 16 CD were just announced for next year)
-Dragon Slayer VII: Lord Monarch (PC-98 and just got released through EGGCONSOLE)

So now, we're only missing Dragon Slayer Jr.: Romancia (which is III), and obviously the original Dragon Slayer.
