What I did in the game: 100% completed on Normal.
The One Picture I have taken: File selection screen (you need to enter different name for others difficulties).
Few weeks ago, there was a release on the eShop for an indie Metroidvania called Toziuha Night: Order of the Alchemists that looked really nice. After doing some research, I've learned that it was actually a sequel to a game called Toziuha Night: Dracula's Revenge, which was a take on Classic Castlevania instead. So before starting the sequel, I wanted to see the first game. And yeah, it's Classic Castlevania to a T. If you're not playing on Easy Mode, that means slowly going through stage with a whip that can hit in 1 direction and a sub-weapon, destroying candles to find money or differents sub-weapons, commiting to your jump and getting high push-back if an enemy hit you. I read that on easy, you can now whip in 8 directions, have infinite live, double-jump and control on them along no hit-back, but I didnt tried it since it seemed almost like cheating. In any case, you'll be getting through 6 stages with a few story scenes in between. To be frank, the story and the character portraits were the low point of the game. It felt really amateurish (even had some bugs in the dialogs where it would only show numbers, like it's trying to load a variable) compare to everything else that was pretty spot-on. The pixel art in particular was really great, and the controls were tight. But since it was a solo project, I don't mind the amateur part, it gives the game some charm, and the core of the experience was great. Plus, I've now started the sequel, and from the little I see, A LOT have been improved between the two games, so it was great to see how it started. Overall, I highly recommend the game if you like Classic Castlevania, it nails it perfectly!
