Quick completion, and weird history behind it. This is the Game Boy version of Darius II, which was included in some very specific version of the Darius Cozmic Collection as an exclusive game, and that I never got...until today, when I was browsing the Japanese eShop. I realized you can buy it there for 500 Yen ($5)! I just love Game Boy demake, so I had to buy it. And as far as Game Boy shmup goes, it was pretty great. You lose the branching path system of standard Darius games, but the game itself is pretty long with 8 Stages. And the gameplay is really great, with no slowdown, and some great parallax effect, which looks pretty cool on the Game Boy. There's also some chipthune version of the classic Darius II music. Really happy to have played this one finally, and for not much money.
