Nintendo February 2026 Partner Showcase - My picks and thoughts

So yesterday there was a Nintendo Partner Showcase, and while I did watched it live, I didnt post about it because 1: I was focusing on finishing Yakuza Kiwami 2 and 2: I was waiting for the infographic to come out. Well, both are done now, so here's my picks and thoughts.

At first, I admit I was barely interested in what was showing. Which is not something that happens a lot with me, since I'm easy to please when it comes to gaming (for better or for worse). It might also be the fact that I'm phasing out my purchases on the Switch 2, only focusing on some series or big game I really want, unlike the Switch 1 where I still continue to buy everything I have any interest in.

Fortunately, as we went along in the second half, more and more games I wanted started to show up, so I ended up with 8 Must Buys (circled in green in the picture above), and 2 Maybes (circled in Yellow). My picks were:

-The Adventures of Elliot (more HD-2D goodness is a must for me)

-Super Bomberman Collection (already bought, I love retro collections, and it even replaced Super Bomberman R2 as my Bomberman game on my Switch. Only bought R2 to have some kind of Bomberman multiplayer experience on my Switch, and it's not necessary anymore)

-Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (I can't believe it's releasing as soon as this June. And maybe it's just me, but I feel the game footage that they've showed looked pretty good for a game that was bringing the PS5 to its knees)

-Kyoto Xanadu (Falcom, enough said)

-Digimon Story Time Stranger (I might have skipped it, but it's also coming to Switch 1 with a Switch 2 update available, and I already have the previous Digimon Story game, so it's a yes)

-Monster Hunter Stories 3 (now that's a big maybe. I have yet to play 1 and 2. If I love the previous games, I might buy it, but since for now it's a Switch 2 exclusives, and not part of my MUST on Switch 2, I may just skip it)

-Console Archives Ninja Gaiden II (a big unexpected surprise. So, Hamster will officially take the mantle for the Virtual Console! Really weird that it's exclusive to Switch 2, but since they're going also for 32-bits system, maybe they wanted a more stable system to run their emulators? In any case, already bought this, and will surely do a playthrough really soon. I can't wait to see what Hamster will bring in the future)

-Scott Pilgrim EX (I can't believe we're getting another Scott Pilgrim pixel art beat 'em up, so obviously I'll get this)

-Tales of Arise (exclusive to Switch 2, but the Tales of series is one I follow, so I'll be buying this)

-Another Eden Begins (in the Maybe list for now. There seems to be a lot of big names attached to the project, but it's also a mobile game, which kinda scare me...then again, I'm the one who is always buying all the Kemco games, so I don't know what I'm talking about...)

Those were my choices. What are yours? And now let's also see if that Showcase will be followed by a Direct in the coming weeks. If you want to watch the Showcase, here it is below:
