Here it is, the beauty of a boxset that is the Castle of Shikigami Trilogy. So here's everything that you get. First, the box itself is in REALLY sturdy and glossy cartonboard. It doesn't feel cheap, it was made to last, and is really great to touch. Why a big box like that you ask (since I was surprised too)? Well because it's not one cart with all 3 games on it. No, it's 3 separate Switch games with their own individual case and cart. There's also book and a soundtrack CD included to complete this beautiful collector package.
So, upon popping the games in my Switch 1, I was kinda disappointed. I was under the impression that all 3 games would have english on them. Well this is not the case unfortunately. Let's start with 2, since it was the game we already had in the West. The cart here is the same as we got already. So you can access the North American eShop with it, your previous save is compatible, and it also has complete english with it. 1 and 3 unfortunately are only in Japanese. Even their name on the Home Menu are in Japanese (unlike again 2, which is written in English). Mind you, the menus themselves are in english and it's a shmup, so the game is 100% playable. BUT if you wanted to read some dialog in between levels, you're unfortunately out of luck.
Overall, I'm quite happy with the purchase, but now I know that bad luck will be upon me, and an english version of 1 and 3 will arrive on the eShop really soon, and those copy wont be updated and I will have wasted money on them. I can feel it in my bones. Oh well, at least you can now enjoy this shiny picture of this beautiful collector item!
